Sunrise is a vertcial, faux-stained glass acrylic painting by Austin-based Beatrice Baldwin.

Sunrise was painted on window-size canvas to suggest viewing a bucolic landscape glowing as the sun rises behind a distant forest. Colorful trees reach up to welcome the arrival of a new day. Textures in each area suggest Tiffany’s “Confetti” glass.

Sunrise explores the textures and glowing effects of light and color of stained glass, with its luminous gradations, suggesting the specialized glass Louis Comfort Tiffany’s workshop created for his astonishing stained glass landscapes.
