Royal Cherub King by New Orleans artist Chuck Benson is quintessential pop art. Benson’s colorful photo-painting collages feature high-contrast photos printed on recyclable papers, mounted on canvas then painted with acrylics.

Royal Cherub King has a background grid alternating between colorful NOLA icons and phonebook pages with a multicolor crosshatch design over it — a signature technique of “Bensonola” works.
