Description

This entrancing work of fine art by accomplished artist Diane Williams was created using acrylic, rust and Stabilo pencil on a stretched canvas built with custom stretcher bars. Purple Hydrangeas is part of her Common Thread series inspired by the earth tones, patterns and repetition of nature. Williams explains,

“The process of painting is a multi-faceted journey. At one point this painting was far less abstract, and included the images of many purple hydrangeas. As I put the finishing touches on the work, my muses had something different in mind. Before I knew it the painting turned completely abstract! The good news is, I was happy I took the risk and created a painting that has the essences of the flowers without the literal imagery.”
