Description

This strong work of fine art by accomplished artist Diane Williams was created using mixed media on cradled panel. Folding Paper is part of her Gesturing the Void series that exhibits bold, confident strokes similar to those perfected by the Chinese masters. Williams adds more about this work:

“Part of my process in creating this body of work is to cover the painting surface with a thin rice paper that I carried back from China in 2001. The delicate paper wrinkles and folds, creating a surface that is complex without being overworked. It adds a translucency that allows the history of the under painting to show through in a subtle manner. ”

With 1.5” deep natural wood edges, Folding Paper is wired and ready to hang. It also works nicely grouped with other works in the series, including Dancing the Ancestors, Golden Lotus, Spring Thaw, Jumping over the Broom, Dancing Brush and Navigating Still Water.
