Description

Artful Galleries is excited to offer this watercolor painting by Austin artist Sue Kemp in this month’s Mothers Collection. Cherries Jubilee is an engaging and colorful still-life artwork of bright sunflowers in a farm-style pitcher surrounded by fruit on a patterned doily – a scene from a mother’s world.

These are Kemps thoughts on Cherries Jubilee. “Patterns evolved during my painting of this scene, influenced by the tablecloth. Seeing shapes which are not really there is part of the joy of creating. Vintage collectibles are a wonderful subject matter for still life paintings.”

Cherries Jubilee is painted on archival paper and is available unframed and shipped in a tube, OR with a white mat and narrow black frame and ready to hang. Please consider choosing Circle of Health International for our 14% donation. We’re helping them help mothers in Puerto Rico – ravaged by two natural disasters and now a pandemic. Thank you!

About the artist:
Sue Kemp, SWS, TWS, WFWS

After a brief career in the public schools, Kemp pursued her art interest. Nature has been a huge inspiration to her from the beginning. “I see paintings everywhere I look and strive to interpret them in my own unique way, in watercolor. I find myself looking beyond what we take for granted in everyday life, as I capture the richness of color and texture or the graceful lines or strong patterns. I look for harmony and rhythm and a sense of balance, which is important in all aspects of life.”

During her artistic career, Kemp has been represented by several galleries and taught watercolor courses at the Contemporary Austin. After being juried into numerous distinguished exhibitions, she has earned signature memberships in Texas and Southwestern Watercolor Societies, as well as Western Federation of Watercolor Societies.

Artful Galleries loves our communities: 14% of this artwork’s purchase price will be donated by Artful Galleries to the nonprofit you designate at checkout.
