Description

Dancing Light is an original oil painting of impressionism by Austin artist Debbi Smith Rourke and is part of her “Light Touches Earth” series. This simplified landscape has a distinct horizon line separating the sky and setting sun from the shimmering land or water below.

Dancing Light is painted in oil on an archival 8×10 inch panel, and then framed in an antique-black museum frame. The warm palette of rusts and golds with pops of cool apple green is reminiscent of J.M.W. Turner. Here, Rourke used both brushwork and palette knife applications to create interesting texture.
