Description

Chinese master Wu Ganzhong described abstraction in the following way, “The beauty of abstract form is extracted from concrete objects and distilled according to the intrinsic qualities of the form.” This painting is inspired by the rhythms of nature rather than a literal interpretation. Multiple layers chronical what is concrete and what is allusive; erasures remind us that nothing is permanent, yet everything leaves an impression.

Concrete Matters pairs well with The Elixir of Life or Prima Materia. The three works in this mini-series create a stunning triptych which can be hung vertically or horizontally.

Concrete Matters is painted on canvas stretched over custom-built stretcher bars creating gallery edges that are beautiful unframed, though can be easily framed. This artwork is ready to hang.
