Artful Galleries is thrilled to offer a range of works by established artist Silvia Vassileva, including Cathedral. This large abstract Cathedral was inspired by recent political events in Istanbul. The famous Byzantine Hagia Sophia, a church and mosque, is an antique place of worship where Muslims and Christians have peacefully worshiped together for centuries. Cathedral is all about peace which is now much needed to counter totalitarian forces threatening to destroy the peaceful traditions at Hagia Sophia.

Vassileva’s palette captures the colors of the area, the sea and sky. Gold leaf is used to suggest arches and domes and connect the artwork to the rich traditions of the country. Cathedral contemporary, decorative abstract is ideal for residential, commercial or hospitality settings. It has touches of metallic gold, painted gallery-wrapped edges, is varnished and ready to hang.
