TERRY GAY PUCKETT
Impressionism / Modernism/ Abstraction
About the Artist

Growing up in the Texas Panhandle, Terry remembers standing up in her crib, drawing on the tempting white wall with a red crayon her interpretation of Santa Claus pulled by angels in a chariot. Her art journey continued, attending Mount Vernon College, The University of Texas and UTSA, receiving a BFA and two Masters of Art Degrees. After retiring from St. Philip’s College in San Antonio, Texas as Professor Emeritus in art, she combined art with travel, teaching and painting in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, Panama and Cuba.

She was Artist of the Year for the San Antonio Art League in 2009, and her liturgical enameling work is at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio. Her artistic journey continues at home in San Antonio.

Artist Abstract Statement:

“I make art to savor the moment, capturing memories. My work tells of my journey in life. Sketching gives clues to the media used for the project. I delight in the colors shapes and textures illuminating the adventure. What I am thinking may not be completely obvious to the viewer, and I invite you to join me on the trip and become involved with your own interpretation.”
