Colleen Gianatiempo was one of 30 fine artists chosen to paint a 7ft high sea lion sculpture to commemorate the anniversary of the sea lions living at Pier 39. Colleen painted this Bark Loudly design on the fiber glass sculpture which is now proudly displayed at the Aquarium at Pier 39 in San Francisco. This painting is an effervescent oceanic abstraction of the habitat of the San Francisco Sea Lions.

Bark Loudly is part of Colleen’s Essentialism series, indicating the “essence” embodied in this creative work is perceptible to the senses. By embracing the mystery, staying open to change, finding courage, honoring her intuition and trusting the journey, Colleen Gianatiempo’s work in this collection is expressive but has a reality behind it.
